A CB RADIO GROUP, 55-YEAR-LONG HISTORY

GIR CB è un gruppo fondato sul finire degli anni ’60 da VIRGILIO FAVA (1 GIR 001)
noto imprenditore maceratese appassionato amante della radio e della Citizen Band, il GIR, Gruppo Italia Radio è arrivato ad avere Associati in tutto il mondo, in virtù del grande impegno profuso nel corso degli anni e al grande carisma dell’indimenticabile Virgilio.
Founded at the end of the 1960s by VIRGILIO FAVA (1 GIR 001),
a well-known Macerata entrepreneur and passionate lover of radio and the Citizen band, the GIR, Gruppo Italia Radio has come to have Associates all over the world, thanks to the great commitment lavished over the years and to the great charisma of the unforgettable Virgilio.

Negli anni successivi anche la nostra Associazione ha risentito pesantemente della rivoluzione tecnologica legata ad Internet e a tutti i nuovi mezzi di comunicazione, che lentamente ma inesorabilmente hanno fatto scivolare la Banda Cittadina nell’oblio.
Dopo molti anni in sordina, grazie alla tenacia dei nuovi componenti del Direttivo e sotto la spinta del Presidente 1 GIR 001 Francesco, il GIR, Gruppo Italia Radio si è ricompattato, riprendendo vita e attività, annoverando nuovi e prestigiosi associati.
Un’ennesima svolta in questa lunga storia… un nuovo capitolo che si è aperto.
Oggi più che mai con la grande determinazione nel continuare un percorso e un’impegno mai dimenticato.
In the years that followed, our Association was also heavily affected by the technological revolution linked to the Internet and all the new means of communication, which slowly but surely caused the Citizen Band to slip into oblivion.
After many years in mute, thanks to the tenacity of the new members of the Executive and under the impetus of President 1 GIR 001 Francesco, the GIR, Gruppo Italia Radio has regrouped, resuming life and activity, counting new and prestigious members.
Yet another turning point in this long history... a new chapter has opened.
Today more than ever with the great determination to continue a path and a commitment never forgotten.

FINALITÀ DELL'ASSOCIAZIONE

Promuovere e mantenere nel tempo lo spirito di fraterna collaborazione che, negli anni 60 del XIX secolo, ha portato all'organizzazione a Macerata del Gruppo Italia Radio da parte di Virgilio Fava, primo vero "fondatore" del G.I.R.
Riunire a scopi scientifici e culturali, con esclusione di qualsiasi scopo di lucro, i radioamatori, e comunque tutti gli appassionati delle radiocomunicazioni.
Assistere, con le modalità che saranno stabilite dal Consiglio Direttivo mediante apposita regolamentazione, i titolari di stazione di radioamatore, di radioascolto (SWL) e CB Banda Cittadina, nonché tutti coloro che si interessano alle attività radiantistiche nell'accezione più ampia del termine, ed eventualmente alle attività collaterali.
Dare incremento agli studi scientifici in campo radiantistico promuovendo esperimenti e prove tutelare gli interessi dei Soci nei confronti di Enti similari ed assisterli nei rapporti con la pubblica Amministrazione.
Mantenere relazioni con analoghe associazioni o gruppi organizzati, sia italiani che internazionali.

PURPOSE OF THE ASSOCIATION

To promote and maintain over time the spirit of fraternal cooperation that, in the 1960s, led to the organisation in Macerata of the GIR by Virgilio Fava, the first real 'founder' of the Gruppo Italia Radio.
Bring together for scientific and cultural purposes, with the exclusion of any profit-making purpose, radio amateurs, and in any case all radiocommunication enthusiasts.
To assist, with the modalities that will be established by the Governing Board by means of specific regulations, amateur radio station owners, radio listening (SWL) and CB Citizen Band as well as all those who are interested in radio amateur activities in the broadest sense of the term, and possibly in collateral activities.
To increase scientific studies in the field of radiantism by promoting experiments and tests to protect the interests of its members towards similar organisations and assist them in their relations with the public administration.
Maintaining relationships with similar Associations or organised Groups, both Italian and international.
